The 30-year locals aren’t easy to come by in these parts. Tim Cochrane’s longevity in the Eagle Valley has been largely spent giving back to the community, and not just in his role with the Eagle Valley Chamber of Commerce.
As Director of Operations for Vail Mountain Rescue, Cochrane is one of a team of volunteers who jumps into action every time a call comes in about a raft capsizing or someone lost and injured in the wilderness. Ready to spring every day of the year, 24 hours a day, Cochrane is coming into his 30th year with the rescue team.
His advise to Vail newcomers?
“Take the time to get to know some of the people. Seek out some of the originals.”
Without naming himself as one of these, Cochrane claims that the foundation of the community’s wealth in arts, recreation and opportunities lies in the efforts and hearts of individuals.
What is Plum 98? It’s a collection of 98 individuals (a nice, round number) who have etched a mark in the Vail community with positive energy and vision. Be it in the realm of art, recreation or politics, we at Plum want to recognize these local stars for their encouragement and inspiration. To meet more Plum 98ers, click here.
