Let us first say that this Photo Contest was a real nail-biter. As you can see in the slideshow below, we had some serious talent to sift through.
As it stands, those photos with the most votes were the winners. You’ll probably notice by the onslaught of comments that “Sicko,” by Katie Moebius was especially hard-hitting and received a landslide of fanfare. Thus, the snowboarder leaping over the “No Jumping” sign (um … don’t tell Ski Patrol) is our overall contest winner.
If any of you were in town in mid-August, you’ll remember the Armageddon-like storm we had in the middle of the night. Stephen Botts captured a frame of it for “Lightning over Matterhorn,” which is our Landscape category winner.
We were flooded with Action-Adventure pics – all very cool – but Tanya Tanner’s shot of Matt Lancaster flying out of the terrain park landed the most votes and is thus our category winner.
Naturally, the pic of the dude with the trucker hat and unruly moustache in Laura Jean’s “Spirit & Strength of America” was a crowd favorite and is our Spotlight category winner.
Last but not least, “Honey the Dog,” by Rachel Stumpf melted just a few more hearts than the other adorable shots of children and pooches and is our winner for the Kids-Dogs category. Thanks again to everyone for playing, and check out our winners and all of our fab-O contest entries in the slideshow below.
What will our winners be getting? A big hug? Maybe ... Also one of these awesome prizes:
A $400 half-day fishing trip for two from Gorsuch Outfitters, two day passes to the newly renovated Allegria Spa at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek as well as a yummy brunch, a $100 gift certificate at The Dusty Boot in Beaver Creek, Burger & a Beer for two at Larkspur Restaurant in Golden Peak or a dinner at Whirled Peas restaurant at Vail Golf Course.
