OK Savion, Crack a Tap!

Tim Stenovec

Don't ever tell Savion Glover to "break a leg."

"We say, 'crack a tap,'" Glover told Plum Vail on The MorningNoon&Night show on Aug. 5, when we were lucky enough to catch a preview of his performance for the Vail International Dance Festival.

Some may remember Glover from his years on Sesame Street, his Tony award-winning performance in "Bring In Da Noise, Bring In Da Funk" and more recently, many know him as Mumble the penguin, the animated character in Happy Feet for whom Glover provided a motion capture.

Choreographer and actor, nobody can deny that Glover has changed the face of tap dancing. In other words, if tap dancing ever went through a phase of losing its cool, Glover has replenished the slickness of his art ten-fold.
