Plum's Dog of the Summer Contest

Hold your breath everyone ... because we have our winner.

Before we disclose Plum's Dog of the Summer, let it be said that our contest elicited hundreds of votes from local and international dog lovers ... many of whom you dog owners may have implored or bribed, but we were still touched by the big turnout.

We feel very lucky to have such lovely mugs of ALL of these charming mutts on our Site this summer.

While many of the contenders brought in votes throughout the contest, handfuls trickling in every week, it was one of the contest's latecomers that ended up walking away with the crown.

Is the suspense killing you?

OK. Here we have it. Vail's own Toto dog, better known to his family and friends as Whiskey, walked away with the grand prize.

You'll probably want to get his autograph now because in a few weeks, once he stars in Plum's DOG-umentary, he'll probably be doing too much jet-setting around the globe, charity events and celebrity schmoozing to have time for anyone around here ...

Thus, a giant congrats to Whiskey! Nice going, buddy!

Just to let you know how things shook out, here is a run down of our top 10 finishers. The top five pooches will all be awarded prizes from Mountain Dog in Vail. Really, though ... Aren't they all winners?

Meet Whiskey. This 1-year old Cairn loves fetch, watching his masters climb and hunting ground squirrels in Riverwalk. He doesn't swim well yet but is trying hard to learn.
