Vail

Taste of the Old West

There are people who have never been to Colorado who genuinely believe that the state is full of wild horses, saloons and lassos.

Horsin' Around in Vail

This belief holds true to a point, especially in places not far from Vail.

What ever happened to the great Western cowboy? Well, he is alive and well on ranches and stables in the Eagle Valley, and ready to be a guide whether you're wanting to take a horse out on the trail, round up cattle, learn to lasso, or just wear some chaps.

There are a handful of local stables and ranches that offer trail rides, cattle roundups and everything else one associates with a true Western experience.

Seeing the local landscape - the rocky mountains, high rolling hills, pine trees and high desert brush - cannot be enjoyed more than from the saddle.
